About The Waterproof No Smell Dog Collars We Carry:
Our dog Parker (80 lb Lab mix) likes to get dirty! We have been through more nylon collars than I can remember. They would always end up smelling absolutely horrible. Whenever he would get wet the smell would be especially strong. His normal nylon dog collar would just suck in all the water, smell and bacteria from Parker's outings and stay damp and smelly until we occasionally washed the collar. Washing the collar would make it lose its color and eventually we would end up getting rid of the collar.
I looked everywhere for a better collar - something that was waterproof, smell proof, and wouldn't harbor bacteria (especially since we have little ones running around the house). All the waterproof dog collars we carry have been thoroughly tested by our number one test dog. If a collar can stand up to Parker it can handle anything. Not only are the waterproof dog collars we carry smell proof and bacteria resistant, but they are really sharp looking as well. We have all sorts of bright colors to choose from - high visibility orange, pink, yellow, purple, red, green... The Sunglo, Zeta, Saltydog and many of the other waterproof dog collars are proudly made in the USA using American Made Biothane and polypropylene coatings.

Materials Used For Our Waterproof Dog Collars
USA Biothane - Biothane is a brand name for a polyester webbing coated with a flexible, waterproof material, typically thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This combination gives Biothane a unique set of advantages making it strong and flexible like leather, but completely impervious to water.
Polyurethane Coated Nylon - Polyurethane (often TPU) coated collars typically feature a nylon or other webbing core with a polyurethane coating, combining the strength of the webbing with the benefits of the coating.

Yes, our waterproof dog collars are completely waterproof - not just water resistant. They’re made from durable materials like BioThane® or coated webbing, which won’t absorb water, smell, or break down over time - even after frequent swims or muddy hikes.
Will the color fade or peel off on waterproof collars?
The colors on our waterproof collars are embedded in the material or protected under coating. They are designed to resist fading, cracking, or peeling. They stay vibrant and looking new much longer than traditional nylon or leather collars.
Can waterproof dog collars be used in saltwater?
Yes! Our collars can handle both fresh and saltwater. Our Saltydog saltwater brand with stainless steel hardware won’t rust, rot, or get funky-smelling. Just rinse with fresh water after saltwater exposure to prolong the life of your dog's collar.
Do waterproof dog collars smell over time?
Nope! One of the biggest benefits of waterproof collars is that they don't retain odor. Unlike nylon or fabric collars that can smell after just one wet outing, our collars stay odor-free even with daily use.
What size waterproof collar should I get for my dog?
Ideally use a soft tape measure to measure around your dog’s neck where the collar normally sits. Measure for how tight you want the collar to fit. Then choose a size that based on the specific sizing guide on the product page. Each product page includes a size guide to help you get the perfect fit and it is important to reference because not all collar brands have the same sizing guidelines.
Are waterproof dog collars safe for dogs with sensitive skin?
Yes, our waterproof collars are smooth, non-porous, and hypoallergenic. They’re less likely to cause irritation compared to wet, bacteria-trapping fabric collars, making them great for dogs with sensitive skin or allergies. Some customers buy them for this reason alone.
How do I clean a waterproof dog collar?
Cleaning is simple. Just rinse the collar under water and wipe it down with a cloth or mild soap if needed. No need to toss it in the wash or wait for it to dry.
