The Hurtta winter jacket is an efficient way of keeping your dog warm when temperatures drop. The garment protects the dog’s major muscle groups and tender abdomen area. It has a fur lined region at the base of the neck and soft fleece on the underside of the garment. The top layer is made of a leading edge proprietary material developed by Hurtta called HoundTex®. The impermeability and breath-ability of the Houndtex® material is top of the line and has been developed for heavy duty use; this makes it perfectly suited for active dogs. The Hurtta dog winter jacket can be put on and taken off quickly, which makes it perfect for warming up active dogs’ muscles before or after training.

How To Size For A Dog Harness, Coat, Vest, Pack, or Apparel
How To Measure Your Dog
To properly fit your dog for a Hurtta Winter Jacket, you first need to determine his or her back length (measurement #1 in the diagram below). This is the most important measurement since the neck and chest region of the coat is adjustable. If you are in-between sizes after measuring the back length, then use the neckline (#2 in the diagram below) and chest/girth measurements (#3 in the diagram below) to help you select the most appropriate size.
Taking the back measurement
Be sure that your dog is standing squarely, with head up, and is looking straight ahead when meausuring. Following the contour of the dog's back closely, measure from the top of the dog's withers (the point of his shoulders) to the base of the tail (the point where the tail joins the body). Do not measure from the dog's collar.
Taking the neckline measurement
The neckline measurement is taken around the widest part of the dog’s neck (the base of the neck). The neckline of the Winter Jacket may be several centimeters larger around than the dog's actual neck measurement since the neckline of the jacket can be adjusted smaller.
Taking the chest measurement
The chest/girth measurement is taken around the widest part of the dog’s chest, just behind the forelegs. Breeds with long and thick fur need a little more room for the chest than dogs with short fur.
